Yisrael Ne'eman

Yisrael Ne'eman
Lecturer, International School, Haifa University

Yisrael Ne’eman is an historian.  He received a BA in History from Rutgers University and completed an MA in Modern Jewish History at the University of Haifa; his master’s thesis was on the relationship between the American Jewish community and Israel from 1967 to 1973, with the emphasis on Zionist activities on U.S. campuses. His areas of specialization are Jewish History and the Middle East. 

At the University of Haifa International School, where he has lectured since 1991, Ne’eman teaches Contemporary Israel: History and Society during the year and leads a field study program (The Land of Israel: The Jewish Connection) during the summer.  As a nationally licensed guide, Ne’eman also lectures and leads tours for various educational organizations throughout Israel. 

Ne’eman and Elliot Chodoff co-direct Hamartzim Educational Services and co-edit Mideast on Target www.me-ontarget.org, which presents commentary on Israel and the Middle East.

Ne’eman continues to work in educational programming both in Israel and abroad. He is currently writing a book entitled Hamas: Jihad and Antisemitism in the Guise of Palestinian Nationalism.
