Charles Asher Small, PhD
Founding Director, Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy

Charles Asher Small was the founding director of the Yale Initiative for the Interdisciplinary Study of Antisemitism and is currently the founding director of the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy.  He is also a lecturer on the Ethics, Politics and Economics Program; the Political Science Department and with the Institute for Social and Policy Studies at Yale University.

Born in Montreal, he has a doctorate from Oxford University and has taught at the University of London, Ben-Gurion University, Tel Aviv University, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was the Director/Associate Professor of Urban Studies at Southern Connecticut State University. Small has been a Visiting Professor at University College London; McGill University, Montreal; the University of Vilnius, Lithuania; and Cape Town University, South Africa. He has presented as an expert on antisemitism at the Australian, British and Canadian Parliaments, the German Bundestag, and at the United Nations in Geneva. In August 2010 in New Haven, Small was elected as the President of the newly-formed International Association for the Study of Antisemitism (IASA).
